Know your New Rights
The theme for National Consumer Week 2015 campaign was 'Know your New Rights'. The aim of the week was to raise awareness on the new Consumer Rights Act, an extensive piece of legislation which came into force on 1 October 2015.
The campaign was a partnership lead by the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), the National Trading Standards Board and the government department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The aim of the campaign was to:
- promote awareness of these new consumer rights through effective communication of simple messages in traditional press and media and through digital and social media.
- increase consumers’ understanding of, and their ability to exercise, these rights by using consumer education materials developed by Citizens Advice.
CTSI led on the business education side of the campaign.
In support of educating businesses we produced some promotional material that was available to order in support of any local activities you were planned. An example of the poster and postcards are available to view below. We have a stock of postcards still available, along with some Welsh materials. Citizens Advice focused on empowering consumers with the new legislation in place to enhance their rights.
