Launch of the RSPCA Community Animal Welfare Footprints Awards Scheme 2013

The RSPCA has launched the Community Animal Welfare Footprints (CAWF) Awards Scheme for 2013.

CAWF has established itself as a mark of recognition for commitment to animal welfare for many local authorities and public bodies in England and Wales since it was launched in 2008 and the 2013 Scheme will again be officially supported by TSI and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Jeremy Adams, TSI Fellow and CAWF judge, has said: “The Trading Standards Institute is delighted to be supporting this scheme. It has been demonstrated over the past few years, that those authorities and public bodies who have been successful in winning these awards have significantly raised the profile of their animal health and welfare work.

“I would encourage all authorities and public bodies to enter this year. As a judge I have been very impressed with the innovative approach taken by previous winners to make a real impact on the welfare of animals within their authorities, making the very best use of limited resources to make a real difference.”

More information, including case studies of previous winning entries, is available online at or by emailing

The closing date for entries for CAWF 2013 is 19 July 2013 and winners will be announced on 11 September 2013.
