NTSB National Doorstep Crime Conference

Picture of a person knocking on a doorFollowing the National Doorstep Crime project tasked by the National Tasking Group in October 2013, the National Trading Standards Board (NTSB) will be hosting a conference at the Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon, to share the project findings with the trading standards profession.

The work carried out on the project identified examples of excellent best practice in authorities across the country. In addition, engagement with other agencies, charities and voluntary organisations has identified resources and knowledge held by others which is key to tackling doorstep crime and safeguarding victims and communities.

There will be many talks and workshops, such as the NTSB doorstep crime project lead Ruth Andrews discussing the findings and the future picture. Representatives from Hampshire and Nottinghamshire's trading standards will explore alternative approaches to safeguarding vulnerable adults, and their initiatives implemented, and UK Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC) will raise awareness around the slavery and forced labour sometimes involved with doorstep crime offending.
