Top customer service
Powys County Council’s Trading Standards Service has achieved the Charter Mark – the UK Government’s national standards for excellence in customer service. The standard was awarded after an audit was carried out on its services to customers and businesses in Powys.
The service has been awarded the Charter Mark twice, in 2000 and 2003, for its Advice Centre, and in 2007 it become the first Trading Standards Service in Wales to achieve this standard for the service as a whole.
The standard covers all the work carried out by this important and busy service including help and advice to consumers and businesses and the enforcement of trading standards and animal health and welfare legislation.
Trading standards manager Ken Yorston said: ‘We’re extremely pleased to have met this challenge and will strive to continuously develop and improve our service to the public and the business community in Powys whilst promoting fair trading. I appreciate the commitment of all our staff in help the service to receive this recognition.’
