MBE for ts champion
A senior member of the Trading Standards Institute was at Buckingham Palace on Friday 23 April to receive his MBE awarded in the New Year honours list for services to consumers and business.
TSI is delighted its former chairman Bryan Lewin has been recognised for his tireless efforts over many decades in raising the profile of the trading standards profession.
Mr Lewin said: ‘To be awarded the MBE was a wonderful - and surprising - personal honour but it wouldn't have been possible without the support I have received from colleagues and councillors over many years, and, of course, my family.
‘I’m very proud to think that this honour reflects positively on everyone in, or connected with, the trading standards service and the tremendous work, under increasingly difficult circumstances, that is carried out every day for the benefit of consumers and business’.
TSI’s chief executive Ron Gainsford said: ‘It is fantastic to see Bryan so wonderfully recognised – he is highly regarded by all and I cannot think of anyone more deserving.
‘He has an invaluable wealth of legal knowledge and experience, gained over more than 40 years, to draw from to help trading standards to help consumers and businesses, locally and nationally. He remains a real asset to us and the whole profession.’
