TSI welcomes a coordination role for the Money Advice Service (MAS) and further provision of debt advice and education, provided this works alongside the work of existing bodies. TSI urges Government to make financial education part of the national curriculum. MAS has however advised that it will not be supporting the Young Consumers of the Year competition through investment in a dedicated section on money advice and TSI finds this short-sighted and very surprising.

A man from Sheerness has been jailed for 12 months for selling counterfeit goods at boot fairs on the Isle of Sheppey in a prosecution brought by Kent County Council's Trading Standards and Legal Services.
