Christine became Chair of the Chartered Trading Standard Institute in September 2015 following a year as Vice Chair, and has welcomed and enjoyed the opportunity to help lead the UKs trading standards profession. She is also the lead officer for consumer and product safety for CTSI. In that role Christine represents CTSI on various bodies including the Electrical Safety Council Product Safety committee, the UK Market Surveillance Coordination Committee, and RoSPAs National Home Safety Committee.
She has been qualified as a trading standards officer for 30 years working across the UK for various market surveillance authorities. She now runs her own consultancy business undertaking training and project work within the UK and Europe. Christine’s expert opinion is often sought by the media and business and she is also a contributing editor to the legal text Trading Standards Law and Practice.
She has extensive experience in standards work and is currently the BSI chairman of the Consumer and Public Interest Network.
