Ian became a non executive director of the Trading Standards Institute in the summer of 2014. He is keen to help support trading standards services at these times of sever budget cuts.
In the early 1980s Ian trained as a trading standards officer and some twenty years later led the Warrington trading standards team to achieve national excellence in service delivery. During four years at the Audit Commission Ian took a leading role to support poorly performing councils improve their governance. As a director of local government in Cheshire he then helped manage corporate change including the creation of new unitary authorities.
Ian is now a well established performance improvement consultant. He specialises in project managing improvements through re-engineering processes and establishing collaborations.
Ian lives in Warrington with his wife Karen. When not working Ian enjoys playing football and running. He is also chairman of a local arts festival.
