Lead Officer specialist subjects
CTSI influences a vast array of policy debates concerning consumer protection, economic, environmental, fair trading, health and social wellbeing issues through the expertise provided by our Lead Officer network.
Who are CTSI's Lead Officers?
Lead officers are trading standards professionals who are specialists in their field. There are currently 52 lead officers.
Their specialist subjects cover everything from animal health and welfare to weights and measures.
What do they do?
Lead officers work with the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, dedicating their time to ensuring they are fully briefed and up-to-date in their specialist area.
They use this knowledge and insight to inform CTSI policy, work with the media and are extremely active in government discussions and consultations.
They do all this in addition to their day-jobs in local authorities and blue chip companies, allowing CTSI to sustain its lobbying effectiveness.
