TSI response (PDF 371KB). TSI welcomes this consultation and the commitment to continuing better regulatory support by way of a reformed and rebranded Local Better Regulation Office. The Institute has no objection to extending the Primary Authority scheme although it has concerns pertaining to franchises and trade associations.

TSI has submitted a detailed response to this consultation which, inter alia, considers the expectations and responsibilities of young people, parents, and retailers/suppliers (but only responsibilities of enforcers - TSI has suggested some expectations) and discusses test purchasing and acceptable forms of proof of age.

This consultation from the Committee of Advertising Practice and the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice covers the provisions in the Regulations for advertising.
