You need to consider how you will gain your required knowledge to help you with your career in trading standards.

We suggest setting up a personalised timetable for you, clearly indicating progress and setting deadlines to meet your plan of study, etc. This should offer guidance to you and also those involved in your training, and will indicate the level of resourcing needed.

Types of training:

CTSI alongside CEnTSA, NWTF, South West Council and the CTSI Welsh branch deliver the collaborative training.  This is class room style learning for each subject of the Trading Standards Qualifications Framework (TSQF).  If a course is part of the collaborative training, CTSI will guarantee these courses will be delivered.

CTSI also deliver revision days for some of the TSQF subjects.

Another type of TSQF training available is delivered via ctsi academy.

There are also some external training providers and you sit the examinations with them, an exemption fee will apply to each exam the candidate wants to bring into the qualification framework.

Employers can set up their own in-house scheme or collaborate with neighbouring authorities.
