Craig McClue, Head of Policy
Craig is Head of Policy for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and works to lead the debates that shape and promote the trading standards profession in the interests of members, key stakeholders and decision makers. Previously his role was as Lead Officer Executive, where he coordinated CTSI's expert Lead Officers and developed their expertise into policy positions for the profession.
Craig has been in various trading standards roles for over 20 years, mostly in South Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. He likes to take a modern approach to trading standards issues and led high profile initiatives to tackle emerging issues such as new psychoactive substances and private parking.
Craig has recently been at the forefront of CTSI's EU policy work, chairing the Brexit Think Tank that examines the risks and opportunities to consumer protection and trading standards from the UK’s departure from the EU.
