In Memory of Andy Allen, 1968-2024
Posted 11/06/24
Today, we are very sad to announce the sudden passing of our CTSI colleague, friend and all-round good guy, Andy Allen.
Joining CTSI in 2012, Andy was a truly passionate advocate for consumers. He most recently led the UK International Consumer Centre, which he single-handedly built-up over the last decade, but had also previously been in charge of all CTSI commercial services. He also sat as a member of the Consumer Codes Approval Board for 7 years - bringing a wealth of consumer-facing experience to the Board's work.
Prior to CTSI, Andy ran the Consumer Direct contact centre for the South West region. And, before that, occupied a variety of roles across Cornwall County Council's trading standards service. Deeply passionate about consumer protection and the Trading Standards profession, his knowledge, boundless enthusiasm and, above all, his mischievous sense of humour will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Our thoughts are with his partner Louise, a fellow member of staff at CTSI, and both their families.
Rest in peace, Andy.
Your friends and colleagues here at CTSI.
Here's a short film, featuring Andy, from CTSI's Annual Conference in 2018 - he maintained the same enthusiasm for CTSI and the entire sector until the end :
