CTSI's overarching vision is that the UK prospers economically through fair and safe trade.
CTSI’s mission is to support and reinforce the protection of consumers and achieve a level playing field for business.
Our Strategic Priorities
CTSI’s newly published vision, 'Helping Build a Fairer World for Consumers and Businesses', sets out how we will aim to achieve our vision, and modernise the institute.
There are 4 main areas of work to help us achieve our overall vision.
Leading the ProfessionWe will work to support the Trading Standards profession and those working in consumer protection. We will ensure that the profession is representative of the communities we serve and will seek to grow and expand our membership.
Building Our VoiceWe will speak up for the Trading Standards profession and consumers. We will aim to be recognised for effective evidence-based policies and campaigns, and we will seek to influence locally and nationally.
Being Stronger TogetherWe will create a range of partnerships and will work with business to help promote consumer confidence and safeguard honest business. We will also seek to enhance and expand the business and consumer services we provide.
Delivering Tangible ChangeWe will modernise the work of the Institute, including ensuring we are digitally enabled, value and champion inclusivity, and foster a collaborative working culture across the organisation.
These goals, build on the many strengths we have from our 141-year history. They will help catalyse change, help us to address some of the challenges our society faces, and ensure that we become even stronger as a profession that is representative of the different communities we work in and with.
