Product Safety Training Modules
In addition to CTSI's comprehensive, 6-month BCCPS Training Course - which includes face-to-face training and seminars (in London), exclusive webinars and one-to-one coaching, as well as continuous assessment and a certified examination at the end - our individual online-only modules, covering each of the core product safety sector areas, are also now available to book separately.

Sector-based Modular Programme (2024)
Each of our Product Safety modules consists of a live online session - conducted over 4 hours (with additional time for breaks and lunch) - with one of our Product Safety experts (see our Presenter Profiles). And all are now available to book either separately or together (£250 + VAT per module).
1) Electrical Product Safety & Compliance :
Presenter : Mark Gardiner, supported by Electrical Safety First
- Who is it for? : Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with electrical appliances.
- What you can expect to get out of it : An understanding on the legal framework applied to Electrical products including the Electrical Equipment Regulations implementing the Low Voltage Directive, RoHS and more. The standards which can be used to assess electrical products and case studies to illustrate the application of the legal requirements.

2) Gas Appliances :
Presenter : Mark Gardiner.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, and product safety professionals working with gas appliances.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding on the legal framework applied to Gas products, including the Appliances Burning Gaseous Fuels Regulation. The standards which can be used to assess gas products and case studies to illustrate the application of the legal requirements.

3) Personal Protective Equipment :
Presenters : Vicki Burch (Hertfordshire Trading Standards) and Mark Gardiner.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with PPE.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding on the legal framework applied to PPE, including the PPE regulations and the different classes of PPE. Also, includes the standards which can be used to assess PPE and case studies to illustrate the application of the legal requirements.

4) Machinery Safety :
Presenter : Mark Gardiner.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with machines.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding on the legal framework applied to Machinery, including the Machinery regulations and directive. The standards which can be used to assess Machinery and case studies to illustrate the application of the legal requirements.

5) Toy Safety :
Presenters : Mark Gardiner and Geraldine Cosh.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with toys.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding on the legal framework applied to toys including the relevant regulations. The standards applicable to toys, and case studies to illustrate the application of the legal requirements.

6) Clothing, Footwear and Accessories :
Presenters : Mark Gardiner and Geraldine Cosh.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with Clothing, Footwear and Accessories.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding on the legal framework applied to clothing including the relevant regulations. The standards applicable to clothing, footwear and accessories and case studies to illustrate the application of the requirements in the legal.

7) Product Safety in the Cosmetics Sector :
Presenter : Amanda Isom.
- Who is it for? Product technologists, Quality Assurance teams, product safety professionals working with cosmetics.
- What you can expect to get out of it? An understanding of the legal framework applied to cosmetics in the UK and EU, including the relevant regulations and how they apply to different actors within the supply chain. Further detail will be provided on the requirements for documentation and product approval, including the PIF (Product Information File), labelling and permissible ingredients as well as other key aspects of the legislation. Case studies will help to illustrate the application of the requirements.
Session Date (and times) : Tuesday, 24th September 2024 (approx. 10am to 3.30pm, BST).
PLEASE NOTE : Those attending these modules as part of the full BCCPS Training Course will be expected to complete a Multi-Choice Assessment after each session. However, this is an optional element for non-BCCPS attendees.
