Landlords and Criminality: Understanding Organised Crime in the Private Rented Sector
Participants will learn to recognise the warning signs that may indicate criminality within rental properties and understand how landlords and letting agents can become unwittingly involved in organised crime.
The training explores how some individuals progress from accidental involvement to becoming professional enablers of criminal enterprises and money laundering operations. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, attendees will gain an understanding of how organised crime groups exploit the housing sector and what indicators enforcement officers should be looking for.
