Level up your skills within Food or Feed

CTSI is now launching Food and Feed courses, offering apprentices a trusted and recognised pathway to demonstrate expertise and achieve professional endorsement. Developed in line with Food Standards Agency standards, the pathway will give apprentices the confidence that their qualification meets industry standards.

FAQs

Below are some frequently asked questions for the Level 6 Transition package:

Registration

You can register for the Level 6 Food/Feed Transition package through the CTSI website. Once complete, the CTSI Qualifications team will send you a confirmation letter with details of your Candidate ID and your SharePoint folder.

You will also receive information about the Revision Day and how to access the training notes via the online Learner Management System (LMS).

Course Fees

The price of the course is £450 + VAT

Attending Subject Revision Day

The subject revision day will be held 1 month before the exam cycle begins and is part of your package. Level 6 Candidates can also register to attend the Food/Feed Oral Training at an additional cost and can register here.

How do I upload and submit coursework?

You will be required to submit your Food/Feed coursework by 1 March for the May exam cycle or 1 September for the November exam cycle. You will be able to upload your coursework to your designated Sharepoint folder, which can be accessed by the CTSI Qualifications Team.

What happens next?

Once your coursework has been submitted, examiners will audit and provide feedback to you via the Qualifications Team if necessary. If you are required to amend your coursework, you will be notified and a re-submission date will be provided.

Sitting your Oral exam

You will receive an email invite from the Qualifications Team with details of your exam date and time. The exam will be conducted virtually through Microsoft Teams and will be recorded for Moderation purposes.

You will be asked to provide Photographic ID to show a member of the Qualifications Team before the exam begins. You will also be required to show workspace areas and have a plain Microsoft Teams background that is unblurred for Invigilation purposes.

Receiving Exam Results

If you submitted your coursework for the May exam cycle, you will receive your exam results via email in July. If you submitted your coursework for the November exam cycle, you will receive your results in January.

Failed coursework after resubmitting

If you failed your coursework following feedback from examiners, you would be required to resubmit your coursework in the next exam cycle. You will also be required to pay a resit fee.

Failed Oral Examination

If you failed your Oral Exam, you will be required to resit in the next exam cycle. This will incur a resit fee and must be booked online. Further information will be made available to you by the Qualifications Team.

Certification of Achievement

All Level 6 Candidates will receive a certificate of completion of their Apprenticeship via CSA. You will be advised to contact the Qualifications Team to provide proof of completion, and you will be provided additional certificate of recognition for the chosen module that was completed via the transition.
