Phil is the Service Delivery Director at the Chartered Trading Standards Institute the professional body that represents its members working across public and private sectors.
He represents the Institute at the highest levels in the formation of regulatory policy and legislative developments – advising on aspects of business compliance, consumer, and trading law.
He has experience at EU and International levels on aspects of market surveillance, including the development of e-training solutions for EU market surveillance authorities and the auditing of member states Product Safety market surveillance arrangements. He has also been involved in the delivery of the Product Safety Corrective Action Guide for European Businesses through the Commission funded PROSAFE project and the UK’s PAS 7050 ‘Bringing Safe Goods to Market’ and PAS 7100 ‘Consumer Product Recall and Other Corrective Actions’ and recently the Business Certificate of Competence in Product Safety.
He has been an advisor to Governments including Armenia, China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Since 2015 he has continued to deliver a number of projects on behalf of the UK Government to assist the Government of India in their Ease of Doing Business initiatives.
