As the countdown to Christmas begins, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute is working with the Office for Product Safety and Standards and the Journal of Trading Standards to raise awareness about the importance of safety checks for buying toys safely this Christmas.

Are you buying toys safely this Christmas? It is important to know who you are buying from wherever you are shopping, remember reputation matters. Is the seller widely recognised for safe and reliable toys? Get as much information on the seller as you can, especially when shopping online. Not everything sold on an online platform is authentic or safe, and there may be risks associated especially if the actual supplier is not based in the UK. 

The campaign will be releasing safety messages in the coming weeks to help consumers shop smart and shop safe. Follow the campaign hashtag #SafeToys2021 for all the top tips.
