Practical Food Sampling Course
This course will be suitable for candidates taking unit 4 -Food Standards- of the CPCF Qualification and for those candidates completing their portfolio.

CTSI Professional Competency Framework (CPCF). These free courses are available for those who intend to assess any portfolios for candidate(s) studying within the CPCF.

CPCF Portfolio Building
CTSI Professional Competency Framework (CPCF). This is a free session for those who need direction in building their portfolio as part of their CPCF Qualification
UNIT 1: REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT & ENFORCEMENT
This unit will introduce you to the nature, structure and regulatory framework in the UK. In addition, you will be provided with a basic understanding of the legal system in the UK and the structure of the civil and criminal courts. You will learn the formation of contracts and the concept of obligations and liabilities within contracts.
UNIT 2: BUSINESS & CONSUMER LEGAL FRAMEWORKS
This unit will provide you with the knowledge of business formation and the role of self-regulation as a means to maintaining compliance. You will explore the various agencies involved in this process. You will learn about the role of business advice as a means to developing an environment of compliance and understand how compliance is achieved, including the concept of Primary Authority.
UNIT 3: TRADING STANDARDS LAW PART 1
This unit will provide you with the knowledge of core consumer protection legislation and processes which ensure a fair-trading environment within the UK. You will gain an understanding of the criminal and civil legislative mechanisms and the powers to enforce them. In addition, you will also learn the procedural framework for investigation and evidence gathering.
Unit 4: WEIGHTS & MEASURES
This unit will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the legal metrology framework in the UK (and how it interacts with the EU). You will learn about the legal requirements for the principles of measurement of mass, length, volume follow and density. You will learn how to examine and test equipment and apply your regulatory powers and take appropriate enforcement action when errors are identified.
Unit 4: WEIGHTS AND MEASURES PRACTICAL AND ORAL
This training is aimed at students undertaking the weights and measures unit and will provide an understanding of the equipment that you may be tested on as well as the exam process associated with the practical and oral exams
UNIT 4: FEED
This unit will provide you with the knowledge and key understanding of the application of feed law. You will learn about the legal requirements in relation to food standards, including formal sampling, their application to food. Additionally, you will learn about how food affects health and well-being.
UNIT 4: FEED ORAL
The day is centred on preparation for the feed oral examination. The tutor will go through the expectations of the examiner and with case scenarios will prepare candidates on what is expected of them in order to successfully pass the examination. The day will also assist in preparation for the written examination and the practical application of the law.
UNIT 4: FOOD
This unit will provide you with an understanding and knowledge of the legal requirements in relation to food standards including formal sampling, their application to food. You will also learn how food affects health and well-being.
UNIT 4: FOOD ORAL
“ The day is preparation for the Food Oral examination. There will be an initial presentation outlining what the candidates can expect from the exam. This will be followed by individual mock examinations, given by the trainer, to allow the candidates some experience of exam conditions.”
UNIT 4: PRODUCT SAFETY
This unit will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of product safety legislation and how it structures and facilitates the role of market surveillance operations and strategies to ensure the safety of consumer goods in the market.
UNIT 5: INVESTIGATIONS
This unit will provide you with the knowledge of key investigative practices; principles; processes and legal controls on conducting an investigation into a breach of legislation. Regardless of whether or not it is criminal or civil in nature. You will gain an understanding of the criminal and civil legislative mechanisms and controls, to allow for effective enforcement and regulation. You will also learn in detail the procedural framework for investigation and evidence gathering.
UNIT 6: REGULATING MARKETS
This unit will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the procedures and processes which market surveillance officers use to regulate the market in goods.
