Coronavirus crisis: New guide for travel industry launched
Posted 29/04/20
Business Companion has launched a free online guide for travel industry businesses caught amidst the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The lockdown of both the United Kingdom and a multitude of foreign travel destinations resulted in a gigantic surge in venue closures and cancellations. The cancellation of countless holidays puts travel businesses under unprecedented pressure in what is the most challenging time the industry has experienced since 9/11.
The free guide, available at the business companion website, gives travel businesses an expert rundown of the current state of play, and what their options are according to UK travel law.
Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Chief Executive, Leon Livermore, said: "The entire UK consumer protection community of organisations have been working hard together to protect UK consumers during the pandemic. We must also protect responsible UK businesses so that they are in a stable position to return to growth once the government lifts the lockdown. This free guide will prove essential reading for the travel industry and forms a cornerstone of CTSI's work in this area.
"New developments are coming thick and fast, and we will update this online guide as soon as new information comes to light. I applaud the responsible way the majority of UK businesses have behaved during this crisis, and I look forward to the day when we can all look back and be proud of the contributions we made during this challenging time."
