A ghost-hunting device, flowers, hair transplant, human fingers in dog food and a masturbation aid are just a few of the more bizarre subjects for complaints received from UK consumers by the UK European Consumer Centre consumer advice line within the past year.
Peckham trader caught with 600 fake iPhone chargers

A Peckham trader who was found in possession of more than 600 fake iPhone charger plugs, was given a 12 month Community Order, with 120 hours unpaid work and costs of £1,410; his company, Safi Electronics and Communications, was fined a further £1,500, at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court

The Consumer Code for New Homes (CCNH) celebrated its formal approval by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Consumer Code Approval Scheme at Westminster this week. CCNH is the only CTSI Approved Code in the new build sector which is backed by an industry collective of warranty bodies.

A landlord who mislead tenants and rented out an illegally converted property, has been jailed for 155 days, having failed to pay a confiscation order that looked to recover his criminal gains, generated from renting two illegal flats.
