This course is aimed at Trading Standards Officers (TSOs) who carry out product safety work and would like to know the current product safety trends. The webinar is suitable for apprentices and officers with limited product safety experience, as well as experienced officers wishing to stay up-to-date with current product safety trends.
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Know the latest product safety trends and emerging risks affecting the marketplace
- Be able to identify red flags that indicate potential safety concerns or non-compliant products
- Understand where to focus market surveillance activity to achieve the greatest consumer protection outcomes

Lewis Collantine - CTSI Lead Officer
Lewis is a Product Safety Consultant with 16 years' experience as a Trading Standards Officer. He has worked for several local authorities and as Trading Standards Manager for TK Maxx. He is the founder of the Product Safety Collective, which provides consultancy, training and other services to businesses and Trading Standards professionals. Lewis brings extensive frontline and commercial experience, helping officers understand current product safety trends and apply their knowledge confidently and effectively in practice.
