About this Training Course

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) plays an increasingly important role in consumer dispute resolution, providing accessible and effective alternatives to court proceedings. This webinar will explore the recent developments with ADR, focussing on how the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 has changed the landscape. It will particularly focus on what is meant by ADR, the benefits of ADR schemes, the practicalities faced by ADR providers, and the role of CTSI in accrediting providers and ensuring the the process runs smoothly.

Our Trainers/Presenters

Sylvia Rook - FCTSI and CTSI Lead Officer Fair Trading

Sylvia Rook is a Lead Trading Standards Officer, Chartered Trading Standards Practitioner and Fellow of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), with 40 years’ experience in the field of consumer law.

As well as advising businesses and investigating allegations of criminal offences in her day job, she is also a Lead Officer for CTSI and a national spokesperson on Fair Trading matters, frequently appearing on consumer programmes on television and radio. She works closely with the Policy Team at CTSI and, has been heavily involved with the Trading Standards input to the drafting of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer Act.

Sylvia is an approved trainer for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, training businesses, consumer advisors and Trading Standards Professionals, and is a member of the CTSI Qualification Panel and CTSI Council.
